Nothing’s really written for tomorrow
All those years we spent immersed in sorrow
We threw ‘em away
We threw ‘em away
You know it’s true
When you free the piece that left you hollow
Passages will open to brand-new worlds
They’re showing the way
They’re showing the way
They’re gleaming through
‘Cause we never really had a chance
to escape from ourselves
All the terrors in our lives would advance
to all sights, day and night
I wander on my feet but all alone now
Nothing can remind me (of) how it went so wrong
I’m throwing away
I’m throwing away
our story, too
‘Cause I never really had a glance
of who I was beneath the scars
Covered in the corners of the darkest den
The night awaits beyond the gates
Chorus:
I wonder if I can
I wonder if I have a reason
to reach for the stars
I wonder if I can
I wonder if I need a reason
But I’ll try once more
Nothing’s really written for tomorrow
Prophecies unveil what is to follow
We’re holding the pen
We’re holding the pen
It’s time we drew
‘Cause we never really had a chance
to escape from ourselves
All the terrors in our lives would advance
to all sights, day and night
‘Cause I never really had a glance
of who I was beneath the scars
Covered in the corners of the darkest den
The night awaits
True life awaits
Beyond the gates
Masterful production - deep, slow enough and a feast for your headphones. Inspiring arrangements and soul-searching vocal performances from a vast array of styles and voices. It's a mega-album, a world of its own. Up there with all the greats of the symph-prog genre. I just can't have enough of it. I like the balance between drama and calmness - always keeps you on your toes, gasping for more peaks and highs. Bordering on perfection - almost the best thing ever done in the progressive world. One of my favorite Progressive albums of the year by far. It has the appropiate mix of mistery, complexity and surprise I expect of this kind of albums. With some gospel, saxo and flute passages giving a theatrical touch. Fantastic. josich
Midwestern prog-metal stalwarts go for the throat on their new EP, featuring a roiling cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' “1979.” Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 7, 2019
The Philly trio have been making technical but not impenetrable instrumental metal for nearly two decades. Their latest shreds, of course. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 8, 2016
